Beloved animated characters greet families with gifts and photo moments
ABU DHABI – Travellers passing through Abu Dhabi received an unexpected festive surprise as a special collaboration brought entertainment and cheer to the airport ahead of Eid Al Adha 2026 and the busy summer travel season.
Families preparing for departure were met with lively interactions designed to create memorable start-of-journey experiences.
The activation formed part of a joint initiative between Warner Bros. World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and Etihad Airways.
Airport surprise
At Zayed International Airport, popular characters including Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo and Tweety appeared alongside Etihad cabin crew to greet passengers.
The surprise appearances created spontaneous meet-and-greet moments, with families stopping for photographs and enjoying themed interactions across the terminal.

Children and parents were offered giveaways from both Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi and Etihad Airways, adding a celebratory tone to holiday departures. The activity was designed to enhance passenger experience during one of the busiest travel periods of the year, aligning with increased demand linked to Eid Al Adha and summer holidays.
